So a friend of mine has a friend who has a 2003 raptor 660 with a 686 BigBore in it He wants to downgrade some and get a 2 stroke he offered to trade me for my 2005 blaster so I might do it its in the shop now getting a tune up and everything it has wheel spacers,exhaust,nerfbars,hotcams stage 3,and more it will be all ready for me this week what you guys think should I go for it I was planning on selling the turd here at tax time after me and my friend tore it down at his dads shop and did the frame bearings and all cause I wanted a shee so I will keep this thing for awhile and then maybe trade it off for a shee I will post a pic of it maybe tomor if I can

I would do it, sounds like an even trade. The raptors are great trail machines and are worth more when it comes to selling them. I personally would do it.

i dont like raptors..i would trade just because it is worth more to resell. there is a nice little hill over in beaverdale if you want to climb. also some decent ones right in portage, if you dont already know it.

Yeah I few guys from nantyglo been trying to get a few of us up that way to climb just everytime we plan something one of us gets other plans and we all wanna go together but yeah in portage we have some nice spots also in lilly to by buddy rusnak was climbing some nice ones out in lilly not too long ago but they was mostly for bikes.

I say trade it, sell the craptor, and buy yourself another blaster project. You'll be able to get some awesome goodies and upgrades with the money from selling the craptor.

Meaning a blaster is alot cheaper to maintain and fix then a raptor would be and where i live you see many people trading shees for raptor 660s and 700s even 450s and z400 etc.

the raptors had tranny problems 1 year and I believe it was 03... I'd research it first

01-02 raptors had the tranny problems. 03+ is good to go.

Nah bro I do my own maintenance the kids dad has the raptor in the shop getting a tune up.And yeah TATER its still open we go there almost every sunday and climb it great hill for practicing we are having a big cookout there this saturday everyone and anyone is invited to join all of us we gonna have food and some good hillclimbing going on and the raptor 660 is a 2003

Well I decided not to get it hes having some issues with it and honestly I don't want another 4 stroke headache mine runs great,looks great and easier to fix if it does break down then that damn 4 poker he is still trying to talk me into trading it but I don't want the hassle I really do enjoy riding my blaster and it does what I want it to do so I am going to pass on the offer too me with it having oil coming out the exhaust and being hard to start he was told it could be rings or possibly valve problem so I am gonna pass on it and keep the turd and do what I wanted to do with it this winter at my buddies dads shop tear it down sand blast and powdercoat everything and get a few new bolt ons and what not at tax time.

Thanks thats what alot of my friends and wife told me I can put around a few hundred bucks at kens and have a bad running machine and I can do alot of the work myself
