well the blaster really needs a chain i adjusted as far as it can go and it still has about 3 inches of slack im gonna end up needing a sprocket hub thingy cause the bolts stripped on it unless theres a way to fix my current one.. i need a clutch cause when i pull the lever in i have about lets see about 3-4 inches of of free play in the lever and thats adjusted all the way out also. i need a brake light and i need a front fender bracket so i can get the brake light and the fender bracket probably for free off of a member from here and i want a good clutch and a good chain so im lookin around 150-200 dollars for freaking maintance o well i had it for four years its time for a clutch and a chain i guess... atleast the engine is still strong lol

time to start up the lawnmoore and start cuttin some grass lol any of you guys got any suggestions on what kinda chain and clutch i should get ?

unhuk your master link, set your carrier to the lossest point, then roll you chain around to where one end is on top of your rear sprocket (while the chain is still around the front) then pull the other end of the chain around, and fold it over so that it has a "tail" hanging off, mark that link, grind the link rivit down, take a center punch and knock the river out and reinstall you master link.

Removing links is the cheapest way and it will work. Keep in mind if you have that much play the chain is stretched and the sprockets are worn down. As far as your clutch. Does it work, does it crab a little or does it slip? Just because you have paly doesn't mean it's bad. However it does mean its getting worn down. If it works leave it alone until you have the money. If your having problems you can usually get it to work a little longer. One way is adding a spacer down below on the transmission side of the cable. This will make it dis-engage further. However these are not professional fixes but they will help if your on a budget.

taking links out will get you by. but you should replace the chain and sprockets asap. as for the clutch.....i hope your basket isnt trashed. cuz the price goes up. i use primary drive sprockets and chain, and tusk clutch with heavy duty springs. the are inexpensive parts. but last just as long. the tusk clutches are bullet proof. my brother had a expensive clutch in a stroker banshee, it slipped bad, bought a tusk.....no problems. all these parts can be ordered from rocky mountain. as for the sprocket hub, search ebay, find a used one. or drill the stripped nuts and bolts out, and replace them.

if your basket is trashed, by a magnum billet basket. its around 100 bucks. ebay has a seller that sells them. if a blster is like a banshee and has the huge gear on the back with the spacers, save the gear, you'll need it. i've never had a blaster clutch apart....

As far as the clutch goes, i bought a "White Brothers Barnett Clutch" and am extremely happy with it and it was an easy installation. I think i paid $60 for it. But if you want all new allen head bolts, the vitos kit is $20 but you get clutch cover, oil pump and stator bolts. I had to have it cause all of the philips heads were stripped out. It was a pain in the ass getting the clutch cover off. You might need a gasket too. $8 i think.

to answer your question it grabs a lil bit and me and my bro already did the spacer inbetween the little rubber thing on the side of the engine

what the threads on the sprocket hubs are stripped ? isnt a way to redrill them or something ?
by the way is that a good clutch? http://vitosperformance.com/atv_parts/product.php?productid=508&cat=252&page=1

you said the bolts were stripped. take a drill bit a bit smaller than the bolt and drill them out. the bolts and nuts will be junk you have to remove them to replace your sprocket. just replace the bolts. kind of hard to explain. maybe somebody can help me out here.

as for the engine cover bolts (i know you didnt say anything about these) the screw heads suck. you can, however, buy replacement allen head bolts at your nearset hardware store. you'll spend less than the kits im sure. just get black. if you want "bling" get stainless. if thats the case, you may want the kit.

i reccommend the tusk. they are the cheapest, and work great. they are about 40 bucks. they last a long time too. any clutch you buy will be better than what you have.

if you are able to get teh bolts out without drilling them out...if teh threads are mangled, you can tap tehm with a thread tap. you'll just have to know which tap to use. im not sure where your at, but what ever you need somebody will help you. i wasnt sure if you meant the bolts were messed up, or the threads were messed up..both are easy fixes....
