Weird Wiseco piston

I fear that you did say more detonation!
OK, implied that more or less I agree,
But how do you know you don't already have it ? You may hear detonation or see it on the piston crown if not its not too late .Sometimes tiny flakes of the piston will be seen on the spark plug.Still a forged piston will endure it longer than cast piston and come out ahead.
The 4 corner seize on any piston Ive ever seen was either caused by, improper piston set up or improper break-in not the piston.
As far as piston ring land pins ... improper ring gap and improper cylinder boring /honing caused what I saw.
However Im not an expert....I don't manufacture them.
So maybe KOR can ask Wiseco for their opinion.

Agreed, that a forged piston will handle detonation much better than a cast one.

Pro racers prefer forged Pistons as they run on the ragged edge of too lean to achieve podium finishes.

For recreational riding with the correct jetting, the common garden cast piston will do an excellent job at less cost.
