well i think i may send my jug out or have a local shop port it... i hear porting it for like 100 bux to 150 bux is a great bang for the buck. im also gonna put a new piston b/c im still on my stock one so im sure my walls have some wear on them. so my plan is bore it mayb .20 over something small and do a wiseco piston and probably have a shop port it and maybe mill the head... is this a good bang for the buck considering mayb spend 250 bux all together..

I wouldnt bore it .20 over.Just do like a .10 over bore.Just enuf to make the cylinder smooth and round again. And yea I would get it ported and all that crap for that amount of money.

Hey man trust me.

I've owned several 2 stroke ATV's. Been working on them for 14 years.
Porting, in the hands of the right person, will be the best power increase for the money.

You can go triple exhaust port setup on a stock bore machine and have 2-3 times more increase than a bolt on 240 kit.

I waxed a guy with a 240 when I had my stock cylinder Blasty. And I also had the stock carb.

Try this, go to bansheehq.com and post this topic over there. (Those guys are generally more experienced with 2 strokes).

This is what I suggest. Find a good builder (I can personally ecommend RB Racing from 1st hand experience)(and no, I am in no way affiliated with him).
Send him your jug and head, and get it bored .010" over, get a weisco piston, mill your head just enough to where you can run super unleaded, and get the aggressive dune port. You will spend about $275 total, but you will be extremely happy. It will be money well spent.

Or you could spend more money on a 240 kit and be disappointed when you race a ported 200...

what he said ^^^^^^

or, go all out, get a 240 kit (not vito's) and then have it dune ported. ctracing makes an awesome 240 kit if you have the $1500 to spend on it. if you want to keep the stock bore then you are on the good track already to making more power. bigger carb and better reeds will also go very nicely with that new port job.

alright cool well im gonna look around at some local shops and get a price but if not ill prob send it out is it the jug and the top piece i send and nothing else right? and the most mill i can do is like a .30 off before race gas i believe. thanks... and i dont usually deal much with 4 wheelers but is it hard to take the piston assembly out and put a new one in?

Yes you just need the two things with the fins on them; the head (top part)
and the jug or cylinder (middle part).

So I know you were arguing with 89custom about the port and polish stock 200 over a 240 kit but I was wondering what if I did the port and polish and the 240 kit, upgraded the carb, reeds and installed a 3+ stroker??? I was just wondering b/c I just want a pisssed off blaster!I:I

It doesn't matter if you put a twin turbo v6 on your blaster, you will never beat that guy..

If you went all the way with a 200; (hp mods only)
Full port and polish
Squish band modification (combustion chamber)
36mm carb on methanol
VF3 reeds
Drag pipe
Timing advance
You would be close to 50 hp (12 stock)
Add big bore and crank you'd probly be close to 56
EDIT Here's a dynograph I found 246cc Blaster maxxed out..He also made 72 hp on nitrous!!

Or add a pipe, reeds, filter, jetting and porting and double your stock hp.
EDIT: Found dyno with porting, 30mmcarb, toomey pipe, VF reeds Remember, stock hp is 12

To do all the mods (bb cylinder, porting, head mod, stroker crank, carb, pipe, reeds, timing plate) is going to run you about $3500.00 in parts and labor. You might wanna keep that in mind too. As far as using a vito's cylinder, theres nothing wrong with it. I'm running one with all the mods in my sig and it takes a little work, but I can pull the front wheels about 2 feet off the ground in 5th gear

oh suck some loser. im over that. your still dumb for saying a ported 200 could be a ported 240. so lets not start again.

fabb, if you got a 240 kit ported, you'd prolly sh*t bricks. im geting my 240 cylinder ported next season, if its still in one piece from all these mods before than that rip.

a well built 200cc motor CAN produce more HP than a out of the box 240. but a well built 240 will tear them all up.

import drag racers prove that every day when they outrun corvettes on the drag strip with a honda civic.

Last time I'm saying this.
What I meant was a ported 200 with 33mm carb and a drag pipe could beat a ported 240 with stock carb and FMF pipe. I am extremely sorry if we had a misunderstanding. I totally agree that 40cc's will not make you slower, ok........ok.......

I totally agree. You are right. When my ported 240 was runnng right, I had raced a 250r 3 wheeler that had a pipe and not sure what else but the guy was braggin how he just got back from dyno tuning and he had it set up perfectly yadayada.. Well I raced him and he had better tires than me so he usually got the jump but if we had an even takeoff he could not pull on me at all..we were dead even...

And I'll have to concur I own a 2008 Honda Civic SI Mugen sedan, and it has a 2.0 liter engine but it's dam quick for a 4 banger. Would probly smoke most v6 sedans out there..My little engine is just extremely efficient

i know when i get home from my world tour on Nov 4th my blastr is getting torn down and i am installing the ctracing.com 240 kit. of course that 240 jug will make a stop by flotek's shop before it gets bolted on to be dune ported and matched to the new piston. all i can say is that she is gonna be NASSSSSTYYYYY.

of course this is the plan unless i can find a smokin deal on an 05-06 banshee in stock trim. if so, the 240 kit will wait until i get my tax return next year and ill spend my $$$$ on the banshee.
