Vitos Big bore kit

i got mine through a professional builder and it looks to be perfect in every aspect. if you purchase one i would suggest talking to a builder and ordering one that they have already gone over and preworked or ported already

^^ mines a vitos i would just advise you to purchase it through a technician because they inspect everything and make sure there are no flaws before they sell it (vitos can sometimes sell stuff that isnt up to par)

la sleeve is just a little bit more in price but it uses 250r reed cage has a better port lay out and is a better cylinder in everyway and it doesnt cost much more

this is what most would recomend if your going to a bbk. note that you want a larger carb, aftermarket exhaust, vf3's, and you will have to find an intake boot and intake setup to fit. the vitos kit is a little more plug and play and is still an improvement but as stated you may opt to have it worked on from a technitian such as kenoconnor but i didnt with mine and it ran great. good luck!

Ive got one and i didnt see anything wrong with it at all.looks great and everything was well ithin the specs vitos recommended.even the cast piston looks good idk if ill run it i like wiseco but for the average joe i seen no reason to not be able to bolt it on and go.

Its winter so i bought one and using ken oconnors vids ported it out but its not necessary.majority of people here are against the vitos kit but i cant comment since ive not bolted mine on yet but from a quality stand point i am very pleased and im sure you would be too just like with anything else check your specs dont go assuming that the employee wasnt hung over or playing grab ass and not paying attention.

la sleeve FTW comes with a forged piston, 35mm intake boot, 250r reed cage, comic gasket kit, exhaust gasket, longer studs and the studs are relocted so that you can use a ratchet to remove them, the clutch holder is relocted to the side of the cylinder (but it doesnt come with a bolt that screws in so you need to find one of those), comes with a guide to installing and breaking in, and ull get 180+ psi out of the box. Where as vitos you get stock reed cage, stock stud locations, stock intake boot, and vitos quality... yuck so your better of gettng the la sleeve.

with that mind set you would have to get an exhaust carb and all that for a vitos. the only thing i could see you needing with the ct is the cabr because im pretty sure the intakes for a 35mm ???? mabey??? you dont need the pipe or any of that would i say get a bbk without any of it no. but imo you dont need it you would be a fool not to do all the other mods because your not gana make very much power but same as vitso you woud be a fool not to do all the other mods. imo the ct is as plug and playable as the vitos (thats right plug and playable)

yeah im going to upgrade mine to a la sleeve or send the vitos to ken and get it ported, one thing do not use the vitos gasket kit, get a cometic kit, vitos always leak at the base gasket, i have been through 2, should have learned the first time....

Im curious as to how you installed those gaskets and am not questioning your intelligence but ive seen gaskets made of beer boxes on sbf's and sbc's on thermostat housings water pumps and not leak.they were temporary fixes but still they didnt leak.so i ask did you have a clean surface, did you follow torque specs and sequences, and did you use anything on the gasket like the permatex copper gasket adhesive or like wise?

I have a fmf gold series pipe and i also used a dyno jet kit in the stock carb put a uni filter in and took the air box lid off and i was happy with that until it siezed up at the track but i had been running that for awhile so i wasnt surprised but im looking to get alittle more power sense i have to rebuild

Why don't you have your stock jug ported and get the head redone? Maybe put a little bigger carb on it too

budget, the problem is, there isn't a lot of aluminum (width wise) on the outside of the transfer ports to "clamp" that gasket down. The studs that hold the cylinder down are spaced MUCH farther apart than the water pump bolts on a SBC. Add to that, the crankcase goes from extreme vacuum to bunches of pressure instead of a constant 13psi and staying there. If the gasket on the outside of the transfer ports ever slips any at all, the pulsations coming from the crankcase will eventually suck the gasket into the transfer leaning that engine out dangerously.

There's a reason why yamaha made a metal based base gasket from the factory

Idk bro i just used a moose kit on my kdx that looked alot like the vitos and all ive used on it was copper gasket adhesive and it has held up no problems so far.

And where are you 13psi at?crank case pressure?
