I got a set of dual stage reeds , I still have the stock reeds in the cage , the new reeds came with the mounting tabs , but my question is do I not use the curved metal reed " limiters " ? or do they need to be installed? :-/

you dont use the stock reed stops, i think they give you little metal tabs to replace the stockers
yeah the metal strip that goes over the reeds is all you use, dont forget to lock tite the screws

vitos. boyesen or vf3 is the way to go.
yea that same thing has happened to quite a few people including me they are good until the break and the will break. i replaced them with power reeds and the power reeds are way better in my opinion.
