What's goin on guys, just wanted to know if I should use an actual gasket and some rtv gasket when installing my vf3's or only the rtv ? I'm about to install some new reeds to see if that's what was makin my blasty run like sh*t so if someone could help me out quick that'd be awesome ! Thanks

I just put some RTV on mine, works fine. I was having problems with it sealing with the gaskets so I just used the rtv

yep, use the gasket with a very thin coat of hi-temp rtv on both sides, between the reeds and cylinder
a stock intake has built in rubber gasket, most aftermarket intakes require an additional gasket/rtv between it and the reeds

a leakdown test should be performed after the rtv has cured, to verify it is leakproof

seach "leakdown test" using the search function at the top of the page

Aright cool thanks bro I appreciate the help ... I'm buying a leakdown tester from slick as soon as I can get to the post office, I know havin a 2 stroke means you better do a leakdown test frequently or ill be goin through pistons like boxers haha. Thanks again !

Last night after installing my new reeds I snapped one of the bolts on the intake : ( I know I probably torqued down a little harder then I should have but I think it was just too damn cold out for the bolt ( it was snowing out and I didn't have my heater running in my garage ). So now I'm at a stand still until I can get more bolts for my intake. ONLY FU**IN ME ! ! ! Anyone know where I can order o.e.m. bolts for blasters without having to spend three times more $ for shipping then the actual parts ?

I would lap any vf3 cage. They are never 100% flat when you get them, atleast none I have seen yet.Gaskets and a very very thin coat of high temp rtv will work best.
