I'm looking at the V Force 3 reed setup that came on the quad and something does'nt look right. You have the cage and pedals, That's fine but the other piece in the picture looks like it must be used with the cage but it does'nt fit in the intake boot. The hole in this piece is smaller than my carb. (34mm), That's not right and it does'nt line up at all. It goes in the cage perfect, I think it's needed there but something is not right on the carb. side of things. can you help.

Yes you do need that piece that keeps the inner cage tight. Your stock boot there is a extended piece on the back side you may have to remove to allow it to fit over that other piece.

I might have to take pics. The boot from carb to reed cage is rubber and has nothing to cut off. The piece in question has a piece of it that goes inside the boot. My problem is that it wont go inside the boot. If it did go inside the boot the hole in it would be alot smaller than the hole in boot. I cant bolt the boot up because of this. Right now I cant use this piece and the cage system is loose. Can I cut that piece off that wont go in boot? I bought quad like this and it didnt have this piece in the cage, it was in the box. I know nothing about these reeds yet.

I am still a firm believer in not cutting the vf3's tube off. There is a small rubber tab that needs to be cut off the stock cage to fit.If you have a 34mm carb than you should have the correct boot or are you dremeling te stock boot?

why is that dual? I haven't started my build yet so i haven't messed with my vf3 yet so I'm curiouse as to why you wouldn't want to cut it off. have you tried it with and without?
