So I've been in the middle of gathering all the necessary parts, odds and ends, etc. to rebuild my motor. I finally got my cylinder, flywheel, and crank back from KOR. He did a great job! So I have everything to rebuild now. So today I installed the crank which was pretty cool. I heated the bearing like Ken shows on his videos and nothing. Didn't work the first 3 times. The metal piece I had was just a bit to small in diameter to transfer the heat. So I had a extra collar laying around, heated it up, put it on the bearing and bam, the crank slid right in! Then I installed the counter balancer, trans gears, and shift forks. Then I bench shifted it and was able to find all gears. Although going from 4th to 5th it seems like it goes back into neutral, but I'm sure it's just not engaging all the way. Anyhow, that's as far as I got because I realized my green loctite for a bearing wasn't coming until tomorrow, so I can't close the cases til then. So far so good!

sounds like some "braaaaap" is in your near future :)

Awesome. Sounds like you are getting close.

I believe it's the bearing behind the idle gear. Mine was about half way out when I disassembled the motor. Loctite makes a "bearing mount" green loctite for that very purpose.
