well i got my gaskets on put the cylinder back on did my heat cycles. and the next dau it snowed about an inch and took the blasty out, going easy, riding on the ice and went i got to the trails down the road, and i got out. it would not shift all i have it 1st and neutral its hard as hell just to get it in neutral. what could it be?

Do you store it in a heated area? I don't know if this is the case but I have seen trans get water build up over the summer from condensation and washing freeze in the winter causing problems with shifting. That's why you should change the oil often.

Did you do anything inside clutch cover recently? It was shifting properly and all of a sudden now it won't? By chance did you sit with clutch pulled and engine running or coast down hill with clutch pulled?

Consider laying it on left side and pull clutch cover and double check everything. Lock nut on adjuster and external shift mech. keep eye out for any evidence of possible ice in there. Be sure turn fuel off, and tap on float bowl when you tip it back on wheels.

The only other advise I have is to start taking stuff apart and checking it. I'll let the other guys take over from here. Hope you get it fixed.

No, that's why I suggested it. Avoids possibly contaminating oil or stripping drain plug. If it is lock nut or screw for shift star clean screw & nut , or screw and inside of shift drum with brake clean and use loctite. Or if you choose clean off bottom of engine and drain, being careful of no ice snow water, up to you.

Bet a dollar nut came loose. When it stopped shifting did it feel like clutch wasn't disengageing? By off chance did you try shifting through gears without clutch, just letting off gas and shifting?

i'll call that bet, and raise ya a 10 spot.
more than likely, the nut is working loose on the end of the adjuster rod, or was imprpoerly set when you did it and the ball is welded.
open her up....again, pull the pressure plate to confim no ball welded,
then redo the adjustment with the actuator pointer on tha case mark, turn rod in till contact, back off a 1/2 turn, brake clean and locktite the nut this time (be sure to hold the rod from turning while tightening the nut !!!)
don't get crazy with the brake clean, just enuf to wash the oil from the rod/nut, but not contaminate your tranny oil

pull the clutch cover, remove the springs from the pressure plate, pull pressure plate out, watching very carefully the ball does not come with the rod and fall to the floor, if it's welded to the rod, you'll see it there, stuck like a booger on the end of your finger, if it is not, re-assemble, hand tight on the spring bolts, they strip easily, and the spring tension keeps the from coming loose
then follow the above adjustment sequence with cable disconnected at the handle or actuator, adjust cable slack at the handle last
