Trx700xx

bought a 700. took it out for the first time this afternoon. she's a power house. decided this over the raptor because of the IRS and ground clearance from the IRS. i may gear it down a tooth for the woods.

Nice score! What do you think of the IRS? I've heard a lot of love/hate reviews of it. I know Polaris has had some luck with it. What do you think of the Honda system?

so far, it seems pretty good. i guess like all IRS systems, there's going to be some body roll. i think the good out weighs the bad though. tons of ground clearance, smoother ride over rough stuff and better landings off jumps. seems a typical mod is a stiffer anti sway bar.

one thing i never liked on the 700 was the funky front plastic. luckily, it is a two piece design. so i unbolted half of it for what i think is a better look. still have a little finishing up on that to make it look better. photos provided...

now i'm just having the usual desire to mod my ATV.

yeah, i plan on getting a thumb throttle to put back on it.

I'm not sure if this is a offical name for it, but I like to call the 700XX a Backbird. A call back to the CBR1100xx Blackbird of the 90s.

If I owned a 700xx I would put a decal like this right below the headlight:

played in the snow a bit, today. also, i got rid of the twist throttle that someone had put on. yes, that is a blaster thumb throttle. it works great. just waiting on the correct cable to come. i had to make a temporary fix to use the twist throttle cable since the inner cable was about 2 inches to long for a thumb throttle.

swapped out the red shocks for the factory grey. put the other half of the front fenders back on but trimmed them way down. this gives a little more mud protection and i think a better look. i put on a Alba gas cap breather. Really no major mods so far but with 700cc already, it runs great. unfortunately, since buying this before thanksgiving, i have only found enough time to get it out on the trails twice. as you can see by the last pic, i do get it muddy occasionally.
