I'm working on taking the motor out of one of my wheelers, and I can't get the last bolt out that goes thru the swingarm. I've had the wheeler on the side for the last three days and I've been pb blastering it 5 times a day. I have the nut off, and the bolt will turn, but it won't come out. I've tried pounding it out by turning the nut on a bit and putting a punch in the middle. Would heating up the outside of the swingarm/engine area be a good idea??? There's bushings in there that would melt I'd assume, but I just want to get it out.... Any thoughts????

beat it just beat it all ya got to do it beat it.....lol itll come make sure it isnt hitting anything on the other side

I'll keep banging at it I guess.... I'll try a bigger hammer. It's holding up me painting my frame...

If you use steel to punch it through, you might mushroom it over by the threads and then if you get it to move it will bind where its all beat up too. Use aluminum or wood or brass. And like mentioned, make sure it is not hitting the peg on the other side, or the ground if you have it on its side.

Last time I took mine out I made the mistake of putting the nut on then hitting it. That messed up the nut and the threads!! If you look at the bolt, it's hard enough and the threads aren't at the very end (it's kinda sharpened a bit) so it's safe to take a 5lb sledge hammer and bang on it hard. That will pop it out enough so that it should just pull out, if not, a screwdriver or punch will push it out the rest of the way. The threads will be fine.

I feel your pain. I had to do this in the middle of the desert!

These things are a piece of work when all seized up. BFH & a brass punch with a whole lot of muscle!
Keep blasting and banging it up!
