Trouble with clutch arm

My first question is what type of carb comes stock ona blaster? I just bought a project bike set up for drag racing. I had everything worked out on it (I thought) well except for the suspension. So today i just got my new clutch cable in the mail. There wasnt one on it when i bought it. Back to the carb, the clutch arm seriously sets on the carb wall, and will not move unless i take the carb off. The carb thats on it is a Keihin PJ Im pretty sure. And theres no tension on the arm but i guess thats just a worn out spring. I cant creat any clearance because the other side of the carb already sets against the bottom end. So only thing i can figure is that its not the stock carb. Does anyone no what going on?

I just dont understand why it would be this way, because i look at all you guys bikes, and the looks to be a few inches of clearence. I dont see how mine could be so different . Im going to stick the carb back on and snap a pic.

I know engine degreaser is mans best friend, but i did clean the carb up nice

yeah what the heck is that? a stock carb is a mikuni 26mm and stock should have and inch or so of space from there. you either need a stock intake boot or a reed spacer

Yeah ive never owned a blaster before and still dont know anything about them because everythings weird on this thing, So for sure the boot is not stock ?

yeah thats a keihin carb and looks to be a decent sized one. i would just take it and put a spacer in there... and if that thing was ported for a cr125 cage it would need a spacer or the tip would hit the intake bridge. unless its just the boot no cage which would be weird

I went out and looked at my 04. That is def a PJ, likely a 34mm. Your prob is not the carb but the clutch arm, it is too far back. On mine the arm is almost at 90 deg (straight sideways). I know mine is in the right place cuz I just rebuilt the lower end and spent a lot of quality time with the manual. Even if it still touched, turning the carb in the boot slightly is ok anyway, but my arm is in FRONT of the float bowl.

BTW, wicked swingarm. Not stock by a long shot. Blasters don't use link shocks like that and it looks extended too.

Yeah it does have the extended swing arm. If you look in the pic i got that frame with the deal. Also a whole other motor and other stock parts. I paid 400. Ive drove it without the clutch and its pretty mean. But i know nothing about the engine in it. It starts, idles, and shifts smooth

It looks rough but someone has spent some time on this-and-that. Allen socket head cover bolts, people usually put those on when doing motor work. Looks like some of the tabs have been shaved off the green frame to clean it up.

You should take some more pics, expecially of the suspension. I'm curious what else might have been done to it. That swingarm arrangement is unique, for a Blaster.

As far as the clutch arm goes, I don't think it is installed correctly. Look at the manual and there is a pic in the engine section that shows the angle of the arm and proper adjustment.

And here the one i want to put on. I dont know whether im going to cut the springs to make fit( Way too long to work with the mounts) Or change everything back to the stock frame, except for the swingarm and have something that will ride on trails

Your not the only one. I think it would make a good start on a drag bike, but i have almost everything to make it a more practical machine.

No the shocks are just sitting on themselves. The might as well be steel bars. Your guess is as good as mine on what they came off of.
