Im in the middle of building doing a 240 big bore/3mm stroker setup for my blaster. My question is will the stock clutch work, or do i need to invest in an aftermarket one. If so which one do you guys recommend. Thanks David
it will works but after a while will start to slip, make sure your not using motor oil cause that will destroy your clutch, you need to use an oil like the yamaulube trans oil
I have the stock clutch in my Blaster, it has a 72.5 mm bore and 60mm stroke, I put in heavier springs in it when I put in the stroker crank, it doesn't slip at all, but I put in the CORRECT oil (REDLINE) in the tranny and I'm one of those guys that only uses the clutch to start and stop.
i would go ahead and invest in a good clutch while i was pulling parts off of it.I recommend the carbon fiber clutches from barnett,i have run a set for about a year now and there is absolutley no slipping!!!!
I have Barnett clutches in my Ported 240 3mm. They are great and I have had no issues with them at all. The clutch lever is a little harder to pull but besides that they are great.
i found the best way on the barnetts, was that you stagger the springs put one heavy spring and one stock spring, and it not to hard and not to soft just use the springs that come in the kit there should be two different kinds of springs in it!!!
