ok i was tightening everything down on the blaster and im havin a hard as hell time when im in neutral getting to second its just loose and floppy wtf when i finally do it shifts through fine, what would be the problem btw a week or 2 ago i was riding and my brand ne masterlink broke when i was in third and i didnt know it broke i thought i just stalled out so i started it again and let the clutch out in second and it died. would that have any thing to do with it doing this? what can i do to fix this?
normally im not this detailed but if im gonna trade i need it running prime

when was the last time you changed the tranny fluid?? I would drain it and put in some new tranny fluid and see if that helps. Also, check the case infront of the front sprocket....hopefully there isn't a hole there!!

Occasionally out of the blue I'll hit neutral instead of 2nd, sometimes a few times within a short time period but then it just goes away. I think it's probably coincidence.

If your case isn't coincidence and there isn't damage to your case then it could be something messed up with the shift dog, or hopefully just one of the springs. Try the easy stuff first, it never hurts to change your tranny fluid!!

ok u talkin oil in the bottom end thats fresh never heard of actual 'tranny' fluid for the blaster lol but yea the cases are good and ima go take the clutch cover off and look and see if its lined up when my mom gets home, i dont like baby sitting

with a 2 stroke the oil that you pre-mix (or gets injected if you still have that system) ends up in the bottom end as in the crankcase.

With 2 strokes, the crankcase and the transmission are totally seperate, kinda like a car or truck, not like a 4 stroke where the oil that lubes the tranny, clutch, and the entire motor is the same.

Look on the right side (I think, right?) at the back bottom of the case there is a little round glass window. If your bike is on a flat surface and hasn't been running, if you don't see oil in that window, that's an issue!! There is a drain plug on the bottom, drain it, and then put, err, either 650 or 750 mL (I forget, but it's right on the fill plug, and in the manual, but a whole quart is too much I can tell you that for a fact!!) of 2stroke tranny oil in there. Do a search and you'll find out which type of oil to use...you can either go by the manual or not, but I use the stuff that's specific for 2stroke trannies. I'll let you decide what you think is best for your bike though because there are lots of opinions out there as to which type of oil is best.

ok so wait im confused as hel i know what yur talkin about and obviously i dont have the injection and i premix again obviously but i know where to fill the oul and its 650 and im talkin 2 stroke tranny oil and yes i know what the window is haha im not a newb im just wondering what causes this and i thought u meant the oil in the clutch cover and tranny oil was 2 different things i was like o shiz

well i just went out there sat on it and shifted through all the gears like 6 times just fine, then i rolled it ot the shed and did it again shifted through just fine wtf lol

it takes a half quart to fill the tranny, and regular motor oil (10w-40) is fine as long as its not friction modified. i woild ride it and see if it does it all the time or it was just a fluke. could be a worn shift star but i doubt it

haha, thanx man!! Yeah, you really have to be running and with the quad moving for the tranny to shift right....it will be a pita like that sometimes!!

From our long conversation here it seems like your tranny is fine!! They're always kinda quirky when they're not running!! sh*t, sometimes they want to go into N, sometimes they just won't! Gremlins. That's the answer.

It takes 650mL which is 0.69qt to fill the tranny. Doesn't really matter in your case. The bike has to be running and moving for the tranny to work properly.
