Hey guys i Have a 1996 YFS200, I have been reading the DIY thread for the removal of the TORS system... Someone said that it will cause more problems in the long.. Anyone know what problems it may cause? and what does it improve?

only good tors does is prevent the throttle from being stuck wide open, thats its purpose, but it might malfucntion and cause ur quad to not run. say ur out in the middle of a sand pit way far from your house or trailer, it could stop working and cause ur blaster to not run.

if you take it off, i belive the only bad thing is the throttle can get stuck wide open, which hasnt happened to me, or ive never heard of it happening to anyone.

your choice.

Well i had the throttle rev right up to max rpm and shutdown on me one time but i ran out of gas so the engine may have been burning off the fumes...

I took my TORS off, I feel its unneeded. If the throttle were to get stuck wide open I would just shut it off..Kinda common sence if you ask me.

be careful so you dont use your piston as enrichment fuel, they will melt..one of mine did:(

What do you mean buy enrichment fuel...? Also i had another question... I burn Regular Gas.. Would it hurt to burn Super?

Thats a smart way of saying dont lean your quad out, it may start burn the piston and carbon deposites on it as if it were fuel. If your is carbstock jetted it shouldn't make too much a difference. It shouldn' hurt anything, I run 100octane but my carb is jetted for it.

Excellent someone told me that burning super will give me a performance boost.. because the gas station Up here where i live apparently has watered down gas so i may start burning super..

thats what tors does. thats acualy the first time ive heard of it working. if you didnt have tors on, either you woulda gone really fast or just shut it down urself. if not you could blow the engine. dont let it over rev way to much.

Removed TORS bike actually idles now very strange... but i also changed the plug as-well so could have been that.. Also i didnt disconnect the TORS from the throttle i just unplugged the box.. Should that be ok? or is removing the cable from the throttle mandatory?

Plug the TORS back in and see if it changes idle..i dont think it should. if it doesnt its probably the plug..what kind of plug did you put in it??

same as the one i just took out, NGK... cant remember the part number i think its E8 somthing...
