Well its time for a topend rebuild, how do I no what size the piston. Also say im just gonna take the head of to inspect the topend good can you just put the head back on when ur done looking at it and bolt it back and start it up or is there a process to this.

you might need a new headgasket but othet than that you would be fine. if you know your getting the topend rebuilt just take it all apart and get your cylinder honed or bored or whatever your doing?

If its a Wiseco Piston that is in it right now, Look at the numbers and letts on top, then post them up on here.....If its a sh*tty yamaha cast, then I dont know....

The size should be on the top of the piston.

If you take the head off you should replace the gasket and torque it down to the spec in you service mamual and the pattern it tells you to tighten it.

and i just learned a few days ago when i rebuilt my very first virgin blaster that a stock sized piston will be stamped STD on the top
