ok i pulled apart the top end....well most of it. i took the bottom 4 bolts off and i cannot get the cylinder part off. it wiggles a little but i didnt want to break anything before asking. What can i do to get it up and off without breaking?
pic from how-to but i removed all 4 bolts and cant get it off

Ok now to my piston. it has some jagged edges, but for the most part doesnt look that bad. the cylinder (what i can see) doesnt look that bad either.

IS THIS MY STOCK CYLINDER? There is not marking onto except for an x

Thanks!

well why its not pulling off is because the gasket is stuck. just use some balls and pull it apart. as far as the piston the top wont look bad , u have rings and stuff doesnt get to the top of the piston. wait untill you get the piston out to see how the cylinder is and yes thats a stock size oem piston

i had to slightly pry up on it evenly to get it off. mine was a pain to but dont pry one side b/c itll mess it up pry a little then a little on the other and keep switching.

lol, i know your not trying to measure that cylinder with a tape measure... can you measure to +/- .001 with that? haha. just giving you a hard time.

just pull up on the jug a little harder. make sure u got another base gasket tho cause ur goanna rip that one. and have someone there to slide their hands under the jug as you rip it up to keep the piston from smacking off of something and breaking the skirt off.....

were can i get a tool that measures that way?

also the only things i thought that had to be unhooked were those 4 nuts?

It looks like you took the pipe off, but is the carb still connected?? That would make it not want to move very far.

But if the carb is off, then just pull harder, or tap with a rubber mallet to get it to come up a bit, then slowly pull it the rest of the way off and catch the piston with your hand on the way out so it doesn't smack anything.

It won't necessarily come down hard, we're just trying to tell you not to rip the cylinder off real fast or anything. Pull it up off the motor a bit, and slowly proceed and catch the piston in your hand. Chances are it would be fine even if you ripped the cylinder off real fast but no one wants to advice anyone to do it that way!

so the piston will come down hard?

is that for sure a stock pisto size?

it sure is. in the pic i could tell by the top. stock pistons are cast pistons. 66mm. get a forged wiseco at like 67.5mm so you could bore/port or stay wit stock and get a 66mm piston and port.

micrometer

you can get a micrometer at many places online and some autopart stores,Ive even seen em at staples before.
they are also very usefull to have in your garage when your trying to figgure out what size a bolt is or what size you need for something.
overall for anything mecahnical there a must have. I got mine when i tookk shop class back in highschool...lol..kinda funny but thAt was soo long ago our local schools here dont even have a program called shop class ne more...kinda sucks
