got my jug back today ready to put my top end together.question is i watched video of top end rebuild by the rocky mountain guy and the only thing he lubed during rebuild was the wrist pin bearing and bottom of jug.is that really all i preoil?done top end a couple times but i preoiled the rings and cylinder wall he did neither.

i like to use some of the oil that i use to premix with and lightly coat the walls of the cylinder and the piston , but i soak the rings overnight . but im not a professional. just going by what my local dealer told me to do

i dunno, but if you want to preoil the piston and walls,no harm in doing it than not doing it and discover you need another rebuilt.

first and foremost clean everything i like to use carb spray becuase it cleans tough grim hidden debris in back of ports and it dries fast and with no residue .wipe clean ,then use compressed air as well. take the same premix oil your going to use and apply liberaly to rings, piston ,cylinder walls, wirst pin bearings wrist pin pretty much everything once jug is on and seated ..wipe the excess oil off the top of your piston with a clean rag/towel.never seen a motor get damaged by using too much oil for the assembly ,but i have seen the opposite!
