to space or not to space???

i know i know use the search....i just droped the 3mm stroker crank in and i was wondering after all did everybody use the supplied 2 gaskets with the spacer plate or just the 2 gaskets...i built another motor and only used the 2 gaskets ran fine little more torque...but im sure sombody can save me time in testing this out...

wow thats like shaving the head 1.5mm.... did you do a squish test or piston clearance check?

Have you expierenced any detonation?

Never thought about raising the ports. I just figured since you had to get it ported to run a +3 crank. Still learning myself. LOL
Well it will rasie them so it doesn't run like ass but it throws them too far back, messes up the timing, so thats why you send it off to get it matched by a builder and while your at it you may as well get it ported.

actually if this is working for him he has changed the port timing and should be experiencing more low rpm power..with the spacer port timing should be the same as stock

I checked mine (stock) and the dome of the piston comes out of the cylinder at tdc and without the spacer in the +3 I would be scared the to ring is very close to the top of the cylinder...anyhow ballsy to try it out I guess we will see

you would have a very tight squish if you ran no plate and a 3mm crank- almost hitting the band tight .the results will be detonation and a big fat hole in the piston

The 3mm crank with a 2 gaskets and one spacer plate places the transfer timing at 138.. No two cycle engine likes 138 unless it has no tune pipe to help scavenge the cylinder like a weed whacker
If I remember correct, that set up places the ex timing at 185 or 188, either way the blow down is way off the mark.
