They told me I could buy a piston for the topend I have but my piston wall clearance would be at .004. I know its supposed to be .003 but is that enough to cause a piston skirt failure or anything? the cylinder is on its last bore so I am trying to use it otherwise I would go ahead and have it bored... thanks

I would run it, .001 would not cause piston slap, imo, just make sure everything is mic'ed properly, and the cylinder is honed correctly.

i have another topend i could have bored but i would like to use this one, otherwise its dumpster material or a really big paper weight. i ordered the piston so im going with it.

You'll be fine. I just put mine together with .004" clearance. No problems yet, runs like a champ.
