I just got my blasty. The only mod thus far is an fmf full exhaust. I was told by them to buy a 4 stroke.. the reverse comes in handy and yada yada.. well you wont find an 06 blaster for 800 in decent shape just anywhere... so i bought it..

I cleaned the air filter... cleaned carb and put a new plug in it... it runs great.

Now i have the finance situation down. Money's tight like most ppl but i have enough to manage and with income tax coming back... im going to do this once and do it right..

heres what im looking for and im hoping ppl will help with some input.. I dont know alot about the blaster.. but im not a noob when it comes to bikes.Having a few before this has helped some. Every bike has its secrets and after this winter.. i want to pound some 300 and 400ex's... its understood its not just the bike..its the rider and have no fears friends i can handle myself.

so here it goes.

1) im wanting to be a little longer.. not as long as say yb200.. but close. im looking at the +2.

2) need the rear WIDER!.. i see ppl using the stock banshee rear axel.. which is fine by me or is there a better solution... is the dominator2 worth the cash you pay? i guess the question is is it stronger and LIGHTER then the stock banshee?

3) Definately going high compression. I was a tech for acura for years and understand how much difference a high cr can make.. WHAT IS THE BEST C.R. FOR THE 240 BIG BORE?

4) Im definately going to do the port work. I know a friend who does excellent porting work.. he owns the company called headgames and is one of the best import/domestic car fellas i know. has been seen in the show pinks and in several magazines.. his work is flawless. im going to see if he can work on a blasty head.

5) what stroker crank/kit is best for advance'd trail riding??

OTHER..

I asked before about smaller tires. i was told ill lose top end but gain low end tqe.. losing the top end is fine.. i just dont wanna roll this thing when doing donuts lol. i like having a lower profile tire like i had on my 250r.

what would you get? 18's for the rear?.. then what for the front..

So i ask you to toss a few links and make my homework a little easier.. give a fella some input... point me in the right direction please :) i told the fellas at work ( whom i ride with ) ill be doing a rebuild this winter... ( also allows more overtime underground when most don't wanna work during winter)

im not gonna say a word on what exactly im doing.. as far as they know.. im doing piston/rings and maybe a new wider axle.. i cant wait. I:I

1.yb200 can extend your stock axle
2.i would think the dominator axle would be alot better
5.i would go with the vitos +3 stroker crank
18's would be fine you can change ur gearing and go 21x7x10 in the front
you can get all this on ebay

For the axle get a G-force. Its chrome, you can make it +2 or +4 and its stronger than any stock axle plus its got a lifetime warrenty and for $200 you cant beat it. Ct racing prob makes the best 240 kit but a vitos 240 kits is fine. Definitely put a +3 hot rods crank in it. You should be keeping up if not beating 300's already with just your pipe. Get a different air filter (if its not aftermarket already) Sell that fmf and get a powerpros, trinity, f7, dynoport, or a vitos fat bastard to help with the 240 kit. The fmf just wont do. Get the better pipe and jet accordingly. Get your self some V-force 3 reeds. I would contact one of the porters on this website (Flotek, Kennedy, Wildcard) and talk to them. They all do nasty work and can really wake up that 195cc blaster and they will match the port to your pipe. I would also recommend getting the 12 port on the cylinder. As for handling, the stock blasters suspension sucks. Since your getting the axle you might as well try and get some cheap extended a-arms such as burgard. Find some better shocks as though the blaster ones completely suck. Try and find some works, or elkas or if you cant afford them, look for some banshee front shocks and a 400ex rear shock. If you do get extended a-arms i would highly recommend the yfz450 front shocks. As for tires, get your self some maxxis, Itps or kendas. I love the maxxis razr and that my personal favorite tire. Of course there are hundreds so you would have to look into what tire fits your riding style best. And with all that power, your going to want to keep that baby down. A +2 or +3 swingarm will fit you perfect. Hope this helped!

my 2001 walked all over 300exs when i had nothing but boysen reeds and no air box lid!!!

so many options and so much can be done it just depends on your funds..

cheaper big gains bolt on and go are.. vf3 reeds, bigger carb, if stock bore go with a 34 mm carb if big bore with porting go 36-38

good pipe, all listed above or a shearer pipe,

alum air box with a good filter, like uni or k&n

18s on the rear with a 14 tooth front sproket,

now the fun stuff.... porting done by one of the builders, they can match the porting to work best with your set up like carb, pipe and so on and how where you ride.

me personnaly this is what i would do if i had the funds( and a blaster still )

240bb kit, 36 mm maybe 38mm carb, heavy heavy port work, rechambered head, vf3 reeds, alum air box with good filter, shearer or LRD pipe, advanced timing, reed spacer, 3mil stroker, that should get you stomping 400ex's and prob beatin on some banshees

suspension, +2 +4 g force axle, +3 swinger +3+1 a arms yfz front shocks or works, ( possible crj lowering kit depending on where ya ride/ i ride) 400ex rear shock or maybe 250r rear shock, no tors no oil injection,
