tire removal

i have this trucker thing i use to slam down on it and it breaks the bead but dont know what its called oh yea a breaker bar

Ya i get 2x4, put it on the tire so ut just dosent hit the rim, then i get my truck and drive up the 2x4 until the bead breaks. it helps to have sombody to help you out tho

I hammered a pretty good sized flat head screwdriver into it but I`m afraid I`m gonna snap it when I try to pry it because I still cant get a tire iron or pry bar in it.

Someone else around here suggested using a table vice. It sounds like a great tool for the fronts, but the rears obviously wouldn't fit.

My question is...how do you make sure that the bead has a proper seal when you put the tire back on?

I got one a few years ago as a christmas present. Since then it has paid for itself many times over. The bead breaker works great and has six different positions. I did mount mine to a peice of 2" square tube to slip it in the receiver of my truck to dismount the tire.
