Is it worth it and wat advance do people run i'll be runnin a 35 airstriker boyseen reeds with a 3mm stroker crank with a trail aggervise port job for the crank

If you have a port job, you need to match the timing advance to the port job and the fuel you intend to run. Lower octance fuel can't run as much timing advance. If you can stand to pay $8 a gallon for race fuel you can really turn up the timing to get more power out your engine without working into precombustion.

Just turn it up until it starts detonating!

personally i'd run the amount of advance the motor likes best without detonation

ass-dyno time is required

Who did the head shave if you'll have to run 50/50?

The builder should have a pretty good idea of how much advance you can get away with if they cut the head down that much...

^ ha I was told by flotek to go ahead and run +5 but im going to be running 110 and running the spacer plate with the stroker. well see how she does... all depends on your setup.

i would say to go for it because the way they setup most of these motors are tuned down on the true potential by you advanceing your timing your getting maximam push on the crank but be sure you dont turn it back to far because if the internal combustion push is pushing right as the crank reaches tdc your killing your rod bearings you want your push 1 to 2 degrees after tdc
