timing advance

K&N is paper. It is available for Blasters. Blasterjarred, I think tjscott is wondering what filter oil you like to use on your clean filters. I like PJ1 foam super tacky or uni foam oil. The maxima stuff is REALLY good but I find it hard to clean.

well i tried to pull my side cover off to do the advance but the bolts will not budge at all i actually stripped 2 of them. my question is can i use the plus 4 key for the advance instead of buying a adjustable timing plate? and also i need a flywheel puller correct? anything else and how hard would u say this is to do for u ppl that have done it?

Well, you need to get those screws out before anything else so lets work on that first. Try an ez out, that's what I had to use. Use the type that has a cutting slot (like a flat blade screwdriver) instead of the spiral type. I made sure I got this far before purchasing the flywheel puller. I'm doing this mod this weekend using the small bastard round (rat tail) file and slotting the fixed timing holes hence making my own "adjustable" timing plate. I heard the 4 degree key is a little thin so I chose this method. It's explained here:

yea imgonna prob end up buying the key. let usknow how that works for u im gonna try and get my cover off by the weekend im gonna go riding this saturday

i dont think u wanna go to far depending on ur compression and octane rating i think i could be bad.

Put the screw driver in and tap it with a hammer a few times, there might be locktight on it and that will break it up a little. I had to do that on mine, also used a #3 phillips so it didnt strip.

I:IDid it this weekend. Really easy to do, but I did it along with other mods like v-force cage, richen the needle, and a couple more on the main. Now the thing rips nice, gets up into the powerband in no time and keeps it there! So it's everything working together. I:I
