timing advance

A timing advance means that the plug fires just before the piston reaches top dead center, instead of firing at top dead center. You can do it to a stock stator plate by oblonging the holes, or you can buy an off set keyway for your flywheel

Horsepower= torque X engine speed/ 5252
Since power is a function of torque, yes you would increase power
You advance your timing until you reach max brake torque, its easy on the dyno. You just have to be carefull and bump it up 1 degree at a time; until you feel that the bike is not pulling any harder. Then back off 1 degree for safety.

From what i have read the +4 advance is the way to go.I have been running the +4 key for a while on a stock head.Getting ready for the 240 and im going to run the +4 in that alsoI:I .I have seen the blaster video on floteks site and that guy is running a +6 but i have read the +4 is the way to go

it doesn't make your motor any less reliable. All it does is changes when the plug fires and its a very small change but its also a good and cheap way to get some extra power
