timing advance?

I've read that advancing the timing 3-4 degrees will increase the power by about 3 horsepower. I'm sure that on a stock blaster with 12 hp, that would feel pretty good on the butt dyno. I understand that the power increase is down low and a little mid range, but will this mod really hurt the top end that much? Will it feel like it's falling on it's face up top? Just curious. I'm thinking about doing this one as well...

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I'll give it a try soon and see how it works out. Swapping the front sprocket would help with any losses on top end, right?

most on here go for 14 40 gearing, you still have acceleration, but you extend ur top speed, you will lose a little accel, but not really enough to matter , depending on ur riding

93 octane can you really fell the diffrence? and how much more top end speed will i get am going about 60 mph right now but how much more with a 14 tooth?

hmmm I want to do this and find out what happens.... i will probably only advnace it 4 degrees.. even though i run 93 octane, but I have the compression increased to 170psi , im just looking for a bit more lowend

on some bikes and applications you can run +10 degrees ..for most guys +4 works fine
