what would be better to repair stripped top end bolt posts? Also how is the post reinserted into the bottom end without damaging the threads the head bolt attaches to?

in the middle of the stud its should me smooth thats where u use a pare of channel locks to thighten it into place with out messing up the threads,
it's drilled, tapped then the insert is put in, then a new stud is put in. time certs are much better than helicoils.
