The engine sounds like it is knocking can you tell me whats wrong with it?

If there is a air leak it would most likely come the top end right? So I should just ahead and buy a top end gasket kit anyway and replace it? I also have this problem idk if its involved with the tick. When I rev high in nuetral it revs fine but when in gear it like chokes a lot in every gear when I try hit it hard. Dirty carb? Idk ima NOOOB! Just bought this quad a few days ago
could be jetting, air leak, tors, water in gas, dirty carb, long list of what it could be. you have to just start elemenating them
you need to start with the basics first, clean or replace the air filter, clean the car, clean out everything in the carb with carb cleaner, and make sure it had premium fuel in the gas tank,
also make sure it has a good premix oil in it, if you unsure of it and its still oil injected take the oil tank off and dump it and clean it out and refill it with a good oil, yamalube is fine , or you can run a better oil if you would like..

ok i maybe jacking the thread with this 1. but i started to take off the carb but theres a line/wire that goes into the crank from the right side of the carb that idk how to get off. i think im supposed to screw off that cover and the connector or line comes off from there? so the rattle is something i shouldnt worry about right? i guess i'll start with a leak down test but i guess i'll start with carb 1st but i gotta figure out how to get off that mysterious line
my quad has random ticks to it also......blasters just make alot of noise. Every two stroke that i have ever owned made noise. That is just how they sound. you will know when something is wrong.
So how do i get that oil injection line off? looks like its not meant to come off on both ends. i was gonna take off the oil pump with it so i can clean out the carb but i dont wanna end up breaking anything in the process. (all that guey is just mud) and those two missing screw holes is that normal?
I thought about that! lol but... how would get a new 1??? i really wanna clean the carb which is easy but its that DAMN oil line!! im just gonna clean it with it still attached i guess bc i cant even have fun on the bike with it choking like that.
i was told to get rid of the oil injection.and thats what im going to do

and how do you do that? just unplug the line and mix it manually thru the gas tank? leaving the pump there?
