Ambient tempurature and humidity plays a huge facture on running temperatures of any engine.
As for running tempuratures for a blaster engine,275 degrees to 375 degrees.
Go kart guys run as high as 475 degrees to 500 degrees...now thats hot,but they run just fine.
The four stroke "clone class" go kart guys run in the 400+ range and those are chinese copies of the honda mower engines. Were talking FOUR STROKE ENGINES with valve springs to worry about keeping cool.
For any air cooled motor I like to do the spit test. If you spit on it and it boils away in one spot your good.

Thats grate I needed a really cheap way to test I was told bu an old school 2 stroke rider that temp is a nother way to see about jetting for geting to hot any way
