T.O.R.S.?

Ok, so I've exhausted every method I know of troubleshooting. My 04 will only start if I use starting fluid, not at all without it. Once it's started, it runs fine, and has no problems. I've checked spark, replaced the plug, cleaned the carburetor, replaced the reeds, and even pulled the jug for inspection, and replaced all the gaskets. Would a bad T.O.R.S. cause it to not start without fluid, and if so, has anyone DEFINITIVELY figured out how to remove it from the newer models??

Maybe check the compression. Also I don't think you're supposed to use starting fluid in a 2-stroke I heard it burns the piston. Also I dont think the TORS would have anything to do with it not starting, but I could be wrong. Someone will chime-in.

I'm not using much. Just a TINY blast into the carb. Also the compression is right at 110... checked it after I re-installed my jug and new gaskets. Just picked up a flywheel puller off eGay as well, so I can check the woodruff... I dunno. Any other ideas?

+1, need to know what TORS means :) ?
and how u check the compression? do u need a special tool or open the engine?

anyway... 1st u need check all electricity, if all the wires are going well, no cutted or something, wet or rusty, check the acelerator and switch if its fine, clean up the carburator and check the sparks, if it still not running and all that is fine then the problem is inside the engine, for sure...

Throttle Over Ride System = TORS To check compression You use a compression Tester. It screws into your spark plug hole.

i believe the tors system shuts the quad down if the throttle gets stuck wide open there should be a couple wires running to it.......which brings me to my question if i disconect those wires does anyone know if it will affect the way my blaster starts or runs?
