What do you guys think of Supra’s? specifically mk3's. Im looking at the 87's(because of the no e-test) 7mgte turbo. I've always loved all supras, and at the moment can't afford a mk4(at least one that’s together or has an engine lol) so mk3's are lookin pretty good. I like the styling and the turbo engines seem to make decent for power. plus its RWD which I would love. I just honestly haven’t heard any opinions first hand about them like reliability, actual performance, not just numbers and vids of people ripping modded ones.

A car like this would be a great starting project to help me get into my latest choice of career.

Im in grade 12 and im having a hard time deciding what im going to do(for a career) and recently have started thinking about performance car shops/mechanics. Im just wondering if it would actually be a good career choice. Im good with cars/engines/pretty much everything(to be honest) and learn quickly and can solve problems easily, so I THINK id be pretty set going that way. I would like to eventually own my own shop. Problem is, I want to actually have business and I think I may run into a problem with just having a shop here in Ontario. I've thought about going to the U.S. to do this, but have found out recently about all the requirements to work out of country and that I can't actually keep working, it would only be a temporary visa to stay down there. Im young and still have a lot to learn, maybe im wrong, maybe very wrong, and I hope so, but im thinking there isn't as much of an opportunity to do what I want to up here in Canada. Am I wrong by saying that or does that make sense that there’s more automotive/performance/racing opportunities down in the states?

I want to make good money but I have to do something I love, and nice cars are definitely one of my favorite things, if not my favorite thing.

Thanks for any input in advance.

Well idk much about canada but down here in the states there are tons of places for working on cars and performance stuff. its so competitive because there are always people wanting the latest performance parts or just stupid ricers looking for the next chrome rim to hit the market

I hate ricers so if I did own a shop, i'd be happy to be able to turn down ricers for work lol. Tuners for sure. maybe even muscle but i like tuners. clean, stealthy ones.

supras are nice cars man...no matter what year..ive always liked there body lines. everything seems to flow right.

as for a career...do something your HAPPY with. Dont fall into the trap most ppl do and just take what comes around bc you will hate it and that will effect how u feel outside of work. atleast thats how it is for alot of ppl that hate there jobs. I work in a hospital as a Boiler Tech...and i love it,mainly bc its what i went to school for and i like being hands on with stuff. It pays very well also..atleast here in the states it does. If you want to be a circus clown or even a doctor...do something that YOUR happy with. Only advice i could really give bro.

I wouldn't say turning down ricers would be a good move. I would count on them to prob be some of your best customers. They will always be there to buy up stuff. Chances are ricers will be able to afford that next set of chrome rims that just came out before someone might be able to afford that fully built race engine they want. Just my .02 cents.

As far as a career goes deffinitely do something your happy with. I had an awesome job working as a salary paid manager of the detail department of a car dealership. It was awesome got in good with all the mechanics used all the lifts and equipment that I wanted. Then one day they closed down. I was mad as hell. Best and Favorite job ive ever had........

^ a ricers a ricer. all there ever going to buy thats high priced is maybe rims, a fart can and cold air intake. thats it. then their cars THE sh*t right?

You have a few things to learn buddy. 1 of them is to get that type of thinking out of your mind when your thinking bussiness. 2 is that its not what YOU would buy/or do, its what the CUSTOMERS would buy/do. Wether you like it or no, you will make more money selling chrome rims, fart cans and cold air intake, becuz ppl can afford it. Not a whole lot of people can afford to buy all kinds of hardcore engine sh*t from a shop.
