Tried to take my stator cover off today and got all of them off except for the bottom 2. I used a screwdriver, obivously phillips head, and the last two wouldnt budge.... So i tried so hard until I stripped them (with the screwdriver... it takes some strength to strip it with a screwdriver).... So what do I do? Im thinkin about cuttin the top of the screw off so I can just slide the cover over it and then unscrew the screw with plyers or something.... Anyway, what do u guys think? Thanks

were you using a #2 phillips or #3? you should have been using a number3. ez outs work in this situation. if you have an impact drill you can hammer a #3 phillips into the screw then put the impact drill on it. they also make a device that you put a bit in and hit the back of it with a hammer and when you do it turns to loosen the screw. can't remember what it is called right now. i'm sure that 13yr old kungfu grip is what ripped the head of those screws up though LOL! jk

haha.... deffinately cause of my kungfu grip! haha.... oh and i was using a number 3.... trust me bro, i know my tools... but anyway... i'll do that thing u said to do

yea but i stripped the ENTIRE screw..... the impact wont work. THeres like no screw guides in the head!!!

You are going to have to get new screws anyway. If you can't get vise grips on the head of the screw to get them out, then drill or cut the heads off like you said. What is left should unscrew easily with pliers or vise grips.

sorry only seen your post now lol

You could take and cut a slot on the head of it and use a big flat head and a hammer thats the way we do rusted bolts on concrete mixers
