which part of the stock blaster exhaust system is more restricting? the expansion chamber or the silencer?

any answers or opinions will be greatly appreciated

the expansion chamber for sure. On a 2 stroke bike, the silencer doesnt effect power a whole lot, it does but you probably wont notice. Replaceing your exhaust with say an fmf, toomey, lrd, or pro cuircut would make your bike feel like it just doubled in horsepower.

I actually have one that I haven't got around to chopping. Seen something on here as to some kind of baffle in there that can come loose and cause problems. I understand the banshee is simular inside. Another de-tuning aid.

there was some kid on youtube who said he had the stock piep, but it had been cut, gutted and re welded, idk if he was bs'ing me, but it made me wonder if u could make a ok pipe by just gutting the stocker

Short answer is yes. If you could cut some out of the center also to shorten it, it would raise peak power rpm slightly, tho it might not fit good after that.

4cfed chopped one up awhile ago.Pics are on here somewhere.I just seen on my buddies bike where the stock pipe was killing power. The material on the inside of the chamber came loose and started to hinder performance. If need be I will go by my buddies and grab the old one and chop away and post some pics.As much as people say DG pipes are no better than stock,in reality they are better than stock. Not by a whole lot but there are no restrictions in the pipe.
