Stock crank W/ big bore piston and or higher compression ?

Does the stock crank hold up well with big bore kits, say any 72mm piston or above? Does the stock crank hold up well with higher compression? What about with both big bore and higher compression? Should the stock crank be trued and welded when getting into the heavier modified part of things? Are there more durable/stronger cranks or is stock crank just as good or better ?

the stock Japanese crank is the best there is, if within specs or rebuilt using good parts (as ken does)
it'll handle all you can throw at it
