steering stabilizer rebuild?

i have a gibson stabilizer and its leaking a little and doesnt seem to be performing the way it should.. any of you guys know how to rebuild these? its the stick style. can i just take it apart and add fluid?

wish i could help bro but i have no idea about that.. you would want to replace the seal i would think if its leakin'

I'm not sure if a gibson is rebuildable but if it is they should sell a rebuild kit.

try emailing them and asking them if its rebuildable or not

show me a couple piks and I will tell you if its rebuildable. the seal is more than likely just an o-ring that can be replaced if it comes apart.

Im guessing there is a circlip on one end....

pull that circlip and see how it comes apart, you may be able to find o-rings at a local ace hardware, or contact gibson for a rebuild kit, if fluid is leaking, something in there needs replaced

well...if theres fluid, its hydrualic like a shock. any shock oil or atf should work.

When you take it apart just slide everything off the shaft and run it onto a zip tie. That way you know exactly how it goes back on. The seal will either be an o ring or a teflon seal. And yes just buy some shock or fork oil. As for the amount to add Im not sure.
