Steel whool in the silencer, if it makes it louder I'm all for it I:I but will it help performanceon my ct 240? Will I have to re jet my 35mmPWK? Is there a certain kind of steel wool that is preferred?

:o I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO :o
:o I'M GOING CRAZZZZY AND INSANE :o
:p LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL :p

he means use it as silencer packing

i did on mine, 0000 steel wool, i've heard its a little louder and flows a bit better than traditional packing, but i have nothing to compare it to.

Putting anything into the exhaust isn't going to make it louder. It'll just obstruct the exhaust flow.

So packing your muffler with steel wool instead of muffler packing obstructs the exhaust flow more and makes it quieter??????

I THOUGHT IT DID THE OPPOSITE!!!!!!

I think I'm going to try steel wool, but how tight do you pack it?
I assume the tighter the packing the more restriction and quieter, but can you over or under pack enough to harm the motor?? like over heating from to much exhaust restriction???

i just shredded the 0000 steel wool and packed it in there, used roughly half a package of the stuff. i didn't pack it in really hard, but just enough

You use steel wool to save money. It's cheaper. When you take your silencer apart you will see it's just a strait pipe with a lot of small holes in it.With packing it will flow better. With out it the exhaust flows into the can at the inlet end and trys to flow back into the pipe at the outlet end and screws up the nice strait flow. The packing will stop that .
