stator reverse threaded ?

OK Got it off. thanks. Now one of the supid screws that holds the stator on is stripped at the head....ugh! I tried my extractor but it just chewed right threw that soft metal. do I jsut try another size up ? This could be a real problem because I think my crank seal is bad and now I can get this off to cheange it out. Also, once I get it out is there a better replacment that will have the same clearance as the original screw? I would like to get a cap head screw in there but I am afriad it will be taller and might hit the fly wheel? anyone else changed these out?

yeah, that sucks. if you round it off a lot. you may have to drill the head off, then split the cases to remove the rest of it. i replaced mine with stainless steel allen bolts. clearance was fine for me.
