Stalling Question

I have a 02 Blaster, and I've owned it for roughly a month and a half. Well about...4 weeks ago, maybe more, I let it sit at home, gassed it up, topped off the oil, and let it sit to cool down after riding all afternoon. Well I turned the gas off and let it sit. Forgetting I had the gas off, I took it up the road, and it promptly stalled. Turned the gas on, kicked it a few good times and it started. Well since then, every time I pull the clutch in, it wants to stall. And I've had the idle up so high it would move by itself in first gear. I took my reeds out and saw one had a crack in the middle of it, and they were covered in dirt (I guess from me not running a filter). I'm getting new reeds, and I've soaked the carb in gas, and I'm going to take it apart and clean it when my new reeds come in. On a side note, the last people that owned it took HORRID care of it. The reeds were the same that came with it in '02, the rear brake line is dead, and the carb was all gunked up. You guys think cleaning the carb, and getting the new reeds will solve the problem?

first of all u need to get a filter cause its lettin dirt in and will if it already hasnt then it probably burnt it a lil runnin it with the gas shut off

dude, i've offered to come, in person, to help and teach you what your bike needs, pm me for my number and have your parents call me, i'll talk to them and guarentee they'll have me out there lickity split, cause it's obvious by your posts that you haven't a clue, and are gonna fry that motor, if you already haven't
so have them call me now, or have them call me after you fry it, i'll give ya a couple hundred bucks for it then
someone tell this dude, i'm more than just a "random stranger" as i was refered to, and will help him fix his troubles, one may ask....why am i still trying to help you????
cause it's for the good of the blaster community, your wallet and this sport in general!!!!!

yeah man awk knows his stuff don''t be stupid. you should never run ANY engine withoug an airfilter unless you plan on rebuilding it every time you ride. if you stay on the track you will be right in line with the last horrid owners.
