Why does evrybody go 14/40 sprockets wouldn't 15/40 be faster or not just wanted to know before I buy 1

Not doubting your expertise YB but could you explain why?

I am pretty confident I know the answer but then again, I may be completely wrong.

Explination would help :D

Thank ya!

Got ya....

It makes sense. Just didn't understand it entirely.

Would going as far to shave the case be worth the effort to go from a 14 to a 15 tooth sprocket?

you could always put a smaller sproket on the rear which will give you the same effect as putting a larger front sproket on...
usually 3teeth off the rear sproket is like adding 1tooth to the front...
the blasters are slightly undergeared from the factory which is why everyone runs a 14/40 gearset because the blaster has enought power even stock to top out that gearset but just barely...which is what you want..

you can only go down to a 38 rear, if you need more gear then that you can shave the case and put a 15 on the front or get the lonestar hub that allows you to use honda sprockets. the damn hub is over $100 bones tho.

What does 14/41 or 42 do does that put you back where you started or do you get more top end and tourqe?
