spark problem???

i have a 2000 blaster yfs 200 stock i whent ryden yesterday n out nowhere the bike shotoff at first i thouth mayb my plug foulout but put new one in still no start. Grab a spare plug put it on the plug wire n kick startit n i dont get spark everytime i hit it to start. where to start?
Im bout to pull the stator out nclean da magnets .
