This is a very stupid question but do I need to ride with the snorkel on top the air box ?
Or could that be causing it to not wanna idle all the time rides much better with seat off

you can take the whole air lid off, but must rejet for the flow changes.

also depends where you ride.

x2 on what herp said any time you change the amount of air going into or out of the engine you need to rejet to compensate

also clean your carb and adjust it to stock settings for your idle

the air screw might be closed (big one on left side by the air box boot) screw all the way in and then go 1.5 turns out

Set float level, make sure that all jets are clean and fuel flows freely from the float bowl drain when the screw is cracked open.

Start with air screw 1.5 turns out.

Set idle screw so that it has some sort of idle. With TORS it is the big screw under seat on top of unit. With no TORS is is the brass screw midway down carb body.

Warm up motor and then set idle screw for a faster idle, 2000rpm+

Adjust air screw either way to get the fastest idle.

Adjust air screw a little at a time leaving 10 secs or until the motor responds.

Re adjust idle screw for desired idle .
