you will dislike smaller tires, no matter the rim size.
smaller tires grab every nook and cranny in the terrain and pull the steering with it.
the black blaster had 19's on it when I first bought it and they sucked.
I've since gone to 22" fronts on both blasters and the difference is great.

imagine running over a garden hose with a mountain bike,
now try it with a skateboard
get the drift ?

I went from 20" to 21" and it was huge improvement. Like stated above smaller tires aren't great, unless your in need of them for a special purpose.

Less ruber mor speed. My blaster has a yz 490 in it. Can i run smaller it back and keep the size i got now
Go with 20" in the rear, keep the 10" rims. or go to 9's if you are set on changing. you will probably need banshee hubs though
Do i need the banshee hub if i go with the 20 and stay with the 10"rims

If you find 20" tires that fit on the rims you currently have, no.
If you want to buy different rims, banshee rims have a larger variety. more quads used the bolt pattern so there are more types.

I bought 9" douglas rolled lips for a banshee and 20" tires.

Best thing about mine, they came mounted. try www.rockymountainatvmc.com and do a tire builder for a banshee. lots of options, like $5 to mount and $2 for slime, my tires were perfect and all i had to do was throw on my banshee hubs (yfz450 hubs same size as banshee)

if your talking just front, 21/7/10 like your fist post, stick with that size. its not going to matter speed wise. your speed comes from the rear and gear.

You don't want to go too small in the front and too big in the rear or you may end up with this.

Ive just got myself 23x7x10's in the front and I have 22x11x9's on the back. I just cant cope with smaller, the rocky ledges on the 30° climbs and river bank ledges we have to cross are a nightmare on anything smaller! the 21's up front battle to climb.

If you think Im mad, just remember, this is Africa! ;) Often we are the only people to ride a particular area in 3 years, our trails are cattle paths, not bike trails.

A larger tire will roll over or through stuff easier than small. If a blaster weren't so short I'd do 23's on the front.
Them little short tires only work good on a groomed track.

Indeed, thankfully I have a +4 swinger so length is OK, but im interested to see how to tendency to flip has changed (if at all) Guess I will have to see!
