runs sputters dies then runs??

Obtained another blasty las night did the injection removal....previous owner cut fuel+ oe tank w oil!! Smoked like crazy of coarse I clean all fuel out clean carb it ran perfect!!
Now she runs and bogs and dies any help ??

Sounds like your running out of gas.
You could have also fouled a plug.

Plugs good when I goose it all the way and hold it it sputters pops then just dies it'll rev in n great but not under load

you check the compression yet? what about the reeds

Not yet and I'm new to the blasters wut is reeds??? It ran perfect earlier I put about an hour on it it starts idles perfect u start goin hit 2nd get in to it then hit it will bog down and die won't start like looses spark or fuel??

you have to take the boot off that the carb hooks too and the reed cage is behind that on the engine side of the carb. basically the valves of a 2 stroke engine. see if i can find a pic for ya

It's most likely starving itself of petrol. Have you cleaned the carb and checked the floats in the bowl?
I had a similiar problem when the previous owner had caught the hinge with a vice and put no more than a 1mm dent and it was getting caught at the max and min. Flooding and starving itself all day.

Your jetting could also be lean, I've little to no knowledge on jetting.

Carbs perfect don't overflow or anythng float set 21 mm float springed when tapd it ran perfect 2 day just startin sputterin

check ur reeds man. that really sounds like the issue as long as u have unhooked the tors

I've gottem out they look clean dnt see any visual damage or trash?? Anythng specific should I be looking for??

Look for chip or frays around the edges of the reeds.
Also check that they close completely- you should not see a gap between them and the reed cage.

Make sure they are not cracked or chipped and that they are laying flat against the cage.

Is your tors disconected? that would be my second guess if the reeds are in good shape

honestly man, i would check the jetting. Jetting can create big problems on how it runs. It sounds to me like a main jet. It sould be a 230 if you have the stock carb on it.

Actually I cleand the reeds out w carb clean sumones been in the motor and auto hi temp orange rtv was around it for seal I cleand all that out and made a paper gasket for the reeds up against the motor


It fired and ran great took it to rancho 2day wife rode and had no problems thanks guys....

the big ugly box ontop of the carb is the tors. go to the do it yourself section and look up tors disconect. that thing will cause all sorts of headaches.
