i just bought an 88 blaster all stock except an pipe and silencer i rebuilt the carb and now i can get it to rev up and when it does get in to the higher rpm's it runs great lots of power but as soon as i slow down and it drops out of power band it won't get back into power band without alot of feathering of the throttle and i just replace the needle jet and seat for the float and i've set the float adjustment and the air/fuel jet is set at 2 turns out i can't figure out what else it would be it acts like its getting to much fuel at the lower rpm's does anyone have any idea please let me know i wanna get this thing running right so i can ride

whatever you do dont do this its just the absolute wrong thing to do and will burn your engine up in less than 500 feet really

to rich, bogs down off idle, turn the airscrew and make it leaner then reposition the needle clip up to correct midrange affected by airscrew and then its to lean on the top end and shes gunna fry...

BUT if you stay under 3\4 throttle and it fixes all you need rejetting..

If it dont fix off idle, stop dont ride, dont rev it up, dont test it out, put it back like it was and rethink it.

the carb is all stock and the air filter is a stock one and the pipe is lrd pipe and silencer. yes the previous owner has had the same problem that's why he sold it he could figure out what was wrong with it. After rebuilding the carb multiple times he got fed up with it and sold it.

already check for air leaks there's no leaks the carb is stock size and jetting not sure the number what ever is common for stock blasters, i did check the reed valves the reed petals aren't holding pressure on the reed cage anymore the topside has about 1/16th inch gap and the bottom side has about an 1/8th of inch gap I'm kinda of wondering if that's the off idle problem if anyone could shine some light on this theory that would be greatly appreciated. would a hole in the pipe cause this problem also

if it bogs it means its lean, if it sputters it means its rich.
