the crank was just rebuilt it has a wiesco crank and rod, powerpros exaust, boyessen power reeds k&n airfilter. 67.50 bore. just rebuilt the carb so its cleaned. where would there be an air leak if everything is tight?
the reed cage likes to leak quit often... also so does the base gasket if its not sealed properly... did you retorque everything after your first couple heat cycles?
also if you jetted it in the winter time when the air was cold... this new "heat wave" we've been having in pa could of made you to rich
yeah i re-torqued them all, and i jetted the carb yesterday. im gonna drop to the 300 tommorow and see how it works. i think im running way to rich. cause it smokes like a chimney. oh and im running 32:1
how do you know everything is tight with no leak down test ? not being a smart ass but i thought my bike was tight too till i tested it and found my new seal leaking.
technically the pilot operates through the entire range. just from idle to 1/4 is its main function. if its too rich it will affect the whole rpm range.
check your air screw wheres that at?
but ultimately a leak test is gonna tell you whats up for sure, if you are leaking air it will bring particles into the combustion chamber and smoke a top end fast
just say no to vito's, are they even genuine mikuni jets in them kits ????
put the stock needle and pilot in it
my sons bike has a very similar setup as yours, 300 main heading into the second season now, and a stock carb = stock 32.5 pilot and stock needle in the middle position
went for a ride today i dropped my main down to 300. and it ran like a champ but it still wont idle. also the topend feels boggy like the powerband isnt hitting fully
