ROLLED A RING ?? ??

I just pulled the head off of my daughters blaster it just stopped running on her. any how i pulled the head off and the top of the piston looke great but looking down the cylnder walls i can see and feel grooving fairly heavy. my question is is this normal? the bike was making some top end noise mabe piston slap? is this common we bought it used so dont know much on hrs on the motor. any information would be helpful think i will port it while it is apart too

Did you check the compression? You may have troubles other than top end mechanical...Check your compression, spark, and clean your carb out.
You may need to spend that porting money elsewhere...

But if you do get it ported, I highly recommend RB Racing. He has a special deal on EBAY right now..$125 and believe me when I say you can really feel the difference..Totally smoked my buddies Blaster after he got it ported by some other builder..

the compression is gone the gouges down the cyl wall will drop the compression. i have not taken the barrel off to see if anything got in to the lower end but the reeds and carb look fine NO little pieces of aluminum floating around so far. the port work is a definate before i put this back together she has gotten used to riding my Banshee @ 83hp i know that this doesnt compare but she knows the diferrance in ported and un ported blasters too.... i cant pull the wool over her eyes not any more

sounds typical to a overtemp situation or just old age. a .020 bore should fix it back to as good as new on the compression side and then the port job will make it that much nicer. theres a member of this site that does some amazing custom port work as well. flowtec is his user name and he has good prices.

its for his daughter remember i think porting will be a lil to much for her what other mods does he have but she might dont underestimate the riding abilities of a girl lol
