Okay i know its not a blaster but i figured yous guys minght know. I have a 98 rm 250 that blew a piston skirt into the bottom end and locked it up. I took engine out turned it upside down and kicked it over a couple times then put atf in it and washed it out and now it turns over fine and i cant see any metal at all. Am i able to just buy a new top end and run it?

You need to pull that case apart and inspect for breaks and clean everything out really well. You should consider crank bearings as well.

Yuuuuuup. Right on the money with that info.
you should split the cases and replace bearings but at the very minimum id flush the case out real well with diesel fuel.
My little bro has a 95 rm250 that had the same issue and he didnt want to split the cases just slap another top end on and go and thats what i did and his has been together almost 2 years and trouble free.
I flushed it pretty good and apparently got all the peices out.
