I have not called piston mfg. yet but was wondering what the ring gap should be for a 72.5mm piston. I got no paperwork with piston. I'm ready to put it in today but the only thing I still need to know is the ring gap. A buddy said he has never filed his rings, they always fit. I want to know hard numbers, I think I heard on this sit that .013 is a good all around gap number but not sure. Please help, wanna get this thing running.

Thanks alot guys, reps for all. Now I feel good about putting the piston in correctly. Piston is a Wossner. I never heard of this company, its a German forged piston, got it from L.A. Sleeve. Anybody ever use these?

They are reccommend by wildcard.. I dont think you have any other options....

Well that makes me feel better. I know of quite a few pistons out there but I never heard of a Wossner. If a builder like Wildcard uses them then there good enough for me. Its hard to get info on these pistons. About all I know is there German, forged and have a low friction coating.

Have you tried google?

Ya I G. oogled. Still havent found good info on piston. I've read the same old b/s about theres is the greatest thing on earth. I'm still looking, they seem to be very popular with the racing scene in Europe so they must be ok.

Top end is now together and I did have to file rings. Rings were .008 gap out of box. General rule I was told was .012-.017, thanks again for those numbers. I could'nt find any ring info on a Wossner piston and seller took to long to find out for me. I gapped the rings to .012 and put it together.
