Riding in the sand question???

The vid won't play for me. Seeing that your running stock, a 12 tooth front may help. If the track has short straits , you should be ok. What size rear tires are you running? The best way to tell is try to get some test laps in at the track.

should i buy a smaller sprocket for that race?

Not a smart idea to use a new sprocket with an old chain, especially a 12 on front.

The chain may ride the sprocket wrongly due to chain stretch, and cause problems.

Best bet is to use new sprockets and chain.

i would only use it for at most 6 races 2 times a year

18x10-8 and there medium strights.... not tooo shor, but not long

Even one race on a new 12 sprocket could change the link spacing and stuff up the chain.

Remember you will be running sprockets with different wear factors, just think about what the chain does as it ramps up the two different tooth faces, it is goint to try to accomadate both sprockets, therefore put the chain to undue stress causing more stretch.

After 6 races on a 12 front sprocket, and then putting it back on to the original sprocket, could further stuff up the chain and the rear sprocket resulting in a broken chain and possibly a case.

My rule of thumb is never interchange chains and sprockets. Old chains do not ride well on new sprockets and vice versa.

A new set of everything will save you time and money in the long run.:)
